Safety guidelines and cultural etiquette to keep in mind throughout your visit to the Geopark.
Keeping yourself safe and respecting the environment and local communities are a shared responsibility.
Safety
- Always let someone know your planned route and expected return time
- Monitor weather forecasts — Gobi storms can arrive with little warning
- If you break down or get lost, stay with your vehicle and contact locals
Environmental Respect
- Pack out all waste — leave no trace
- Do not disturb wildlife or pick plants
- Open fires are only permitted in designated areas
Cultural Etiquette
- Ask permission before photographing herder families or their gers
- Accept offers of hospitality from nomadic families graciously
